The Delaware Valley Oracle Users Group Inc.
The Delaware Valley Oracle User Group Inc. exists for the purpose of sharing information among the client base associated with the Relational Database technology offered by ORACLE Corporation of Redwood Shores, California.
DEVOUG was chartered in 1988 to cover the user base in the eastern part of Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and the State of Delaware. We have approximately 200 members with almost half attending each meeting. Our High water mark was 135, at our Tools/Vars session in March of 1995.
DEVOUG is supported by the dues paid by its members, and other fees paid by vendors, including but not limited to: newsletter advertising, vendor showroom at meetings, mailing sponsorship and refreshment sponsorship. DEVOUG is not a subsidiary of, nor does it answer to the board of Oracle Corporation. Employees of Oracle Corporation are welcome as members and are eligible to receive the same rights and privileges as any other member.
To the end of furthering our education on the products which surround the Oracle RDBMS technology we convene four meetings each year, doing our best to avoid conflict with other related events.
DEVOUG offers the most robust meeting of any local user group in the country, presenting upwards of a dozen sessions at each meeting. We have Special interest groups which are active in the following areas: Data Warehousing/Decision Support, Tools, DBA and CASE as well as NEOPUG (the Northeast Oracle Pharmaceutical Users Group). In the near future we will attempt to form an APPLICATIONS SIG to follow more closely the activities in the growing user base for Oracle Financials.
