Rapid Backup and Recovery Strategies for NT/Linux - Matthew F. Reagan,
Centocor, Inc.
- The purpose of this presentation is to
identify weaknesses in conventional backup and recovery
solutions and propose alternatives, including specific
software (Drive Image from PowerQuest).
Emphasis was placed on development and evaluation
environments using Intel-based hardware (NT and Linux),
but the techniques could be applied to a production
environment. The presentation will be capped by
intentionally wrecking an NT Server 4.0 installation
several different ways and completely recovering it in
under 5 minutes.
